ABDOMEN / LIPOSUCTION

Q: I have a little pouch on my abdomen, do I need a tummy tuck or liposuction?
A: The doctor will examine your abdominal area and help you make the decision based on his findings and what results you are trying to obtain.

Q: I have ad a C-section. Can the incision be in the same area?
A: In some cases, the doctor can use the same area and minimize additional scarring.

Q: I am happy with my size, but I have little pockets of fat on my hips/thighs. What can be done?
A: You may want to consider liposuction.  The procedure takes from thirty minutes to several hours depending on the area to be suctioned.  Small incisions are made in the skin and the fat is removed by suction.

Q: I am a little overweight. Will liposuction help me?
A: Liposuction is not a procedure for weight reduction. Best results are achieved on those patients who are close to their ideal body weight, but have spot areas (hips, thighs, etc.) that need assistance.

Q: After I had my children, I just can't get my tummy flat. Can liposuction flatten my tummy?
A: In many cases following pregnancy, the abdominal muscles are weakened and a tummy tuck is required to achieve a flat abdomen. The doctor can examine you and determine whether or not liposuction alone will help your problem.

Q: Can liposuction be performed in conjunction with a breast augmentation?
A: We often perform surgery on several areas at the same time.  The
patient actually saves money by having multiple procedures in that we
give a discount on second and third procedures and the surgery center
costs are lower as well.

Q: How long will I have to take off work following liposuction?
A: Most of our patients are back at a desk job within 4 or 5 days
following surgery.  As with all surgeries, we ask that you don't do
anything to raise your heart rate for 2 or 3 weeks following surgery.
