Synmastia Post-Op Photo

This is a pre-op photo of a patient who had her breast augmentation performed by another physician and had come to Dr. Pound's office after she developed complications.

This photo shows the patient 2 weeks after the procedure.
Dr. Pound rebuilt the inside and the breast pocket.

Synmastia: The implants trend toward the middle of the chest and can give the appearance of one continuous breast. This complication can be caused by over dissection of the medial pocket over the sternum in the subglandular plane, or by an over-division of the pectoralis muscle origin along the sternum in a submuscular plane. Over-sized implants also can contribute to this problem.
